Hoard of Classic Cars in Deepest Dorset

Following on from the hugely successful Charterhouse auction at The Moretonhampstead Motor Museum which sold on the hammer for over £550,000, they have been instructed to auction another private collection in a single owner auction.

The owner, who is no longer able to look after and continue to restore his beloved cars, is offering his cars, spares, workshop and other tools, in the Charterhouse auction on Wednesday 10th September, with plenty of projects to choose from.

Many of his classic cars were bought decades ago, the earliest in 1969, with a view to restoring them gradually in retirement. A professional mechanic for many years, he completed many cars restoring them to a high standard previously but has now run out of steam. He also spent years developing a series of barns to keep his cars and project in.

As with many restorers, there is a vast array of spare engines, blocks, gearboxes, other mechanicals, interiors, trim and parts, all being sold without reserve.

In the workshops, there is a great selection of spanners, other hand tools, a large lathe, a blast cabinet, a four-post ramp, two motorbikes, a vintage go kart and even a John Deere ride on lawnmower.

Elsewhere, there are signs, other wall art, a Bowser style pot-belly petrol pump, a trailer and other items associated with a lifetime of messing about with cars.
