Charterhouse Auctioneers have been instructed to auction a collection of vintage and classic cars on-site near Bridport, along with farming bygones, on Wednesday 7th August.
“It will be like a proper old country house auction, only with vehicles and on a farm!” Commented Richard Bromell.
All being sold without reserve, the star of the show is a 1933 Alvis Silver Eagle Mayfair DHC. Family owned from new this was bought as a chassis from Alvis and then fitted with a coachbuilt body from the Mayfair Carriage Company which cost £1,000 at a time when you could buy an Austin 7 Ruby for £112.

Also from the estate, there are a Bristol 401, Alvis 12/50 TJ DHC also family owned from new, Riley 9 Tourer, Triumph TR3 & TR4, Land Rover Series IIA, Morris Traveller, other cars, vintage tractors, farm bygones and even a Victorian shepherd’s hut.
