Marvellous Mercedes-Benz Comes to Charterhouse

A 1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL is consigned to the Charterhouse Classic Car Auction at Haynes Motor Museum on 24th October.

“We already have some great looking classic cars consigned, but this Mercedes-Benz W113 is my favourite motor so far.” Commented Richard Bromell.

1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL estimated at £30,000-40,000 in the Charterhouse Classic Car Auction at Haynes on 24th October

Finished in white with a white hardtop, a blue leather interior and a blue hood, more commonly known as a Pagoda due to its hardtop roof being reminiscent of the roofs of traditional Asian pagodas, it is arguably one of the prettiest cars Mercedes-Benz have produced.

Just under 20,000 230SLs rolled off the production line, with nearly a quarter of these destined for the American market.

In current ownership for 31 years, it has been used sparingly having covered only 11,000 miles in this time, with the owner deciding now is the time to let a new custodian enjoy the car. Estimated at £30,000-40,000 the car started and ran well on inspection. Ideal for a trip to the South of France, this boulevard cruiser will get admiring looks wherever it goes.

Charterhouse is now accepting further entries for this classic & vintage car auction being held at the prestigious Haynes Motor Museum on Thursday 24th October.
