There is a great selection of vehicles included in the Charterhouse specialist auction of classic & vintage cars on the 26th March at the prestigious Haynes Motor Museum but it is perhaps the restoration projects which stand out.
“We all romanticise about finding projects in barns and garages, but I am fortunate that this is part of my day job.” Commented Richard. “For this auction we have been unusually busy pulling out projects in all shapes and sizes throughout the West Country which either home or professional restorers will be tempted by.”
Amongst the projects are two icons of British motoring – a 1970 Jaguar E-type roadster and a 1966 Austin Mini Cooper.
The Jaguar was bought by the owner in 1976 for £1,875. It was used for just two years before being driven into a heated garage near Dorchester. Complete with a rare hard top this project is estimated at £30,000-35,000.
The Austin Mini Cooper has also been in long term dry storage near Shepton Mallet in Somerset and is estimated at £7,000-10,000.
Viewing at The Haynes Motor Museum, Sparkford, Somerset is on Wednesday 25th March and on the auction day Thursday 26h March from 9am with the sale starting at 12 noon
